Geneva, Thursday, 22 December 2006:The Supporting Entrepreneurs for Environment and Development (Seed) Initiative has pleasure in announcing the successful bidders to be appointed as Partnership Support Channel and Research and Learning Channel for the duration of its second cycle of operation (until May 2008).  The service providers will work in collaboration with Adelphi-Consult, Germany, that had been appointed as service provider for the Awards Channel for the same period.

1. Partnership Support Channel:

The Seed Initiative Executive Committee has appointed The Collective Leadership Institute (CLI) based in Germany as service provider to the Partnership Support Channel for its second cycle of operation.

CLI was chosen due to its  multi-disciplinary team, including a background in social sciences, economics and sustainable development. CLI also has its extensive partnerships-related experience, spanning from conceptualizing partnerships through facilitating, implementing and evaluating them.

2. Research and Learning:

The Seed Initiative Executive Committee has appointed the International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD) based in Canada as service provider to the Research and Learning Channel for its second cycle of operation.

IISD was chosen due to its sound track record, technical competence, and outreach capabilities. A multi-discilplinary team of researchers, familiar with analyzing complex problems and action research approaches, will focus on increasing our understanding of partnerships and translating findings knowledge into learning tools for policy-makers and practitioners.

Contracts with both service providers will be signed in January 2007.
