A partnership has been formed to build capacity and skills for high-yield gardening, which will empower rural women, generate additional household income and increase nutrition levels.
The initiative will reduce poverty through entrepreneurial skills training, technical assistance and technology transfer in high yield gardening. The main goals of the initiative are:
• Reduce poverty through entrepreneurial skills training, technical assistance and technology transfer in high yield gardening.
• Build local representation in most regions of Armenia and long term alliance members such as donors and local experts
• Establish agricultural vocational training in rural communities
• Expand the reach of the project to have more beneficiaries, including young farmers and a wider distribution of the appreciation of natural resources.
To ensure the long-term future of this innovative, locally-led partnership for sustainable development, additional contacts, financing opportunities and communication and marketing networks are important. In particular, the following support is needed:
• Long term source of financing and knowledge of fundraising techniques
• Identification of new partners
• Technical expertise in marketing, and input-output projections
